FDLR: It isn’t about the numbers, just ONE is enough to keep the genocide ideology alive

Image
One man’s speech delivered to a crowd in rural Rwanda 30 years ago became the bible verse for marauding militias in 1994. The hunted for Tutsis, killed them and dumped their bodies in rivers so that they “went back to their place of origin” – referring to Ethiopia. Dr Leon Mugesera, currently serving a genocide conviction, was the man behind the microphone. The speech he delivered on that day in November 1992, when read in English, doesn’t strike the shock it does when read and listened to in the original Kinyarwanda language. Mugesera is a single individual, who used his oratory skills and association to the powers of the time, to reinforce a genocidal agenda. He is not alone. As I will demonstrate here, many such individuals are numerous. DRC President Felix Tshisekedi gave a speech to the UN General Assembly last week in which he told the world that Rwandan FDLR militia is a “pretext” used by Rwanda to destabilize his country. He said the FDLR had been defeated compl...

From slavery to Kayibanda: How genocide against Tutsis was unleashed long before

Image
This text was first published in November 2013 by the Qatar Chronicles, written by Dr Igban K. Adetunji From 1441 to 1888, a period 450 years, more than 29 million black Africans were terrorized and kidnapped from their virgin homelands and transported across the different oceans as slaves in a carefully planned operation. It was meticulous, discreet and handled by players who knew what would exactly follow. Though the exact number of victims will never be known, the degree of savage cruelty endured, and the consequences the barbaric trade left for Africa will never go away. Unfortunately today Africans themselves have forgotten the human plunder and mass atrocities against black Africans. As seen from this photo, these are child slaves. These teenagers are barely 18 years indicative of the child genocide The owners of transatlantic ships made a fortune. Slavery created and then relied on a large support network of shipping services, ports, and finance and insurance companies. New indu...

The Thief, The Conman, The Rapist Theogene Rudasingwa Cannot Comment on Rwandan Issues

Image
Dr Theogene Rudasingwa is the latest to voice support for the visit of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to this region. Of all people, it should have been anyone else but him.  Rudasingwa is everything, but credible, to make any legitimate overview of the happenings in the great lakes region. He is willing to say anything, as long as it keeps him on the US government food stamps.  For the record, here is who exactly Dr Theogene Rudasingwa is. Because of his callousness, it earned him the name REDCOM. Who can take seriously a person who as early as 1982 could blackmail his fellow Rwandan students including his relatives and members of the Rwandan business community in Kampala? He conned them to deposit large sums of money with a fictitious Mr “REDCOM CX-1200” in return for personal security.  In Rwanda, lucky to be a senior official, Rudasingwa blackmailed people, with the promise of favours in exchange for money. Of course the victims got nothing. When they reclaimed ...

Secretary Antony Blinken, This is What We Rwandans Think of Your Planned Visit

Image
Dear US Secretary Antony Blinken. We have learnt with gratitude that you will be visiting Rwanda. Your office, the State Department announced on 29th July that you will be in Kigali on 10-12th August. The statement went farther to add that in addition to other issues outlined therein, you “will also raise democracy and human rights concerns, including transnational repression, limiting space for dissent and political opposition, and the wrongful detention of U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident Paul Rusesabagina.” First, let me welcome you to Rwanda in advance. You and your delegation will add on to the visitors eagerly coming to Rwanda as it has fully opened up. And by the way, Rwanda welcomed 1.63 million international visitors in 2019, which is before the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Back to the more serious issues. This communication is to share with you what we Rwandans think about your visit. Without wasting much of your time, we think it is a continuation of Ame...

Wait a Minute, Are The Americans Suggesting Rwanda Should Have Waited For Rusesabagina to Reach Kigali?

Image
The US House of Representatives intelligence committee will this Wednesday July 27 hold a hearing at which Rwanda’s intelligence operations will be the topic of the day. As usual, political theatrics and xenophobia will be on display. Facts about Rwanda will be left out, as speaker after another rumbles with fabrications meant to advance political agendas, not solve anything. The speakers will tell the world that Paul Rusesabagina’s terrorist activities are actually those of a political activist. The victims of his rebel group will not be mentioned anywhere. As recently as June 18, Saturday afternoon at around 14:00hrs, armed thugs, suspected to be remnants of FLN operating from across the border, shot at a public passenger bus on the Nyungwe-Rusizi road in Nyungwe forest, in Nyamagabe district. The National Liberation Front (FLN) is the armed wing of Rwandan Movement for Democratic Change (MRDC) led by Paul Rusesabagina. The group is responsible for several at...

Congolese President Thinks Rwandans Are As Gullible As His People

Image
It is election season in DR Congo. President Felix Tshisekedi doesn’t have anything to show for the time he has been in power since 2018. What better way to find a scapegoat. Rwanda was the perfect one, no different from his predecessors. There had to be a war. There has to be an emergency. There has be killings. There has to be mass displacement. There has to be xenophobic tempers against non Congolese. The perfect victim is ofcourse the Kinyarwanda speaking Congolese. Mobutu Ssese Sseko used the same tactic. Laurent Desire Kabila did too. The government of Joseph Kabila was no different. It has been the same script. All the self-inflicted crisis, so reasons Tshisekedi, will cause anger against an already pinpointed scapegoat. What Tshisekedi had forgotten is that Rwanda and it’s people are not as gullible as he is or the Congolese themselves. The have allowed themselves to be very easily hoodwinked with an imaginary crisis, then told who to blame. The Congolese don’...

CHOGM Rwanda 2022– Over Ten Years of Lies, Rwandophobia, Xenophobia Come to Nothing

Image
Prince Charles meets women in Rwanda as he visited different projects.  A few months before Rwanda’s official accession into the Commonwealth in November 2009, an NGO called   Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) wrote a questionable report for the UK Parliament’s House of Lord denouncing the application.   Authored by Kenyan constitutional expert Professor Yash Pal Ghai, the report said Rwanda didn’t meet the requirements of the 1991 Harare Declaration which expresses the Commonwealth’s interest in international understanding, co-operation and world peace. The document contained many other allegations that have been recycled to date.   The media at the time were falling over each other for that story.   But that didn’t stop the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit (CHOGM) in Trinidad and Tobago held on November 29 that year, to nod to Rwanda’s entry.   Nearly thirteen years later, President Paul Kagame will this week ac...
