Michela Wrong the bigot mourns Another self-minded Racist Robert Krueger

 


The world got more humane with demise of Robert Krueger this week. He was appointed US envoy to Burundi in May 1994.

Since then Krueger advanced his political career, all the way to US Senator, by promoting a revisionist version what really happened in Rwanda. He has been a loud voice in the genocide denial lobby.

Krueger provided breeding ground for emergency of the likes of Michela Wrong. Her book is an exact replicate of Krueger’s. The only slight difference is Wrong used her book as opportunity to keep memory of her lover Patrick Karegeya.

Krueger sold the notion that, miraculously, the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi woke up from the dead to kill Hutus. To make his version as believable as possible, Krueger fabricated events in Burundi that can only have taken place in his mind.

I will highlight one example, though there are multitudes of them. Hosted for a talk at Texas Tech’s Department of History in February 2012, Krueger claimed that three months after his arrival in Burundi, Tutsis were killing Hutus.

“There were about 100 deaths a day in Burundi,” asserted Krueger to audience that had no idea that he had just made that up.

How can 100 people be killed every single day, and seen by a single person?

Krueger’s fabrications were meant to demonstrate his faked resilience, which maintained his profile as the ‘go-to-person’ for expertise on great lakes region.

Michela Wrong is continuation of that white savoir attitude. Just as the men in robes convinced a portion of Rwandan society many decades ago that the other part is the bad one, it's the same seed being slowly sowed.

The trouble is that it has not gone as planned. There is a much more awakened people today.

 

The death of Robert Krueger is nothing more than a good thing for humanity; ethnic bigotry is shrinking. They’re one more less.

Dr David Himbara never recovered from being refused entry into Village Urugwiro. Around the end of 2009, Himbara was replaced from his job in Office of the President. The following day, Himbara woke up very early as usual going to work. At the entrance, the presidential security couldn’t let him in. It’s obvious, because security protocols require that any guests are recorded beforehand. He had no invitation. Did ‘Hotel Rwanda’’s Paul Rusesabagina Just Sabotage Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace?

Paul Rusesabagina came to fame two decades ago as the hero in the movie  Hotel Rwanda . While reality was not as Hollywood depicted, fame sparked first ambition and then, failing to gain support in Rwanda, bitterness.
