Rwanda’s Troops Have Proven History of Saving Life, They Don’t Take It

Last week, the government of DR Congo assumed it had the upper hand, claiming that M23 rebels, and by extension Rwandan troops massacred 120 civilians in Kishishe. The numbers have since changed.

I won’t speak of the outlandish fabrication that Rwandan troops are on Congolese soil. It needs to be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The mere suggestion that Rwandan troops have killed civilians, should make it to the Guinness Book of World Records, as one of the most deranged claims of the century.

The people of countries where Rwandan troops have actually operated or still do, must be laughing so loud. I won’t have to say much, instead recommend you ask the Mozambicans in Cabo Delgado region, Haitians, South Sudanese, Central African Republic (CAR),  Malians, and Darfurians, to mention but a few.

In Congo itself, Rwandan troops brought home hundreds of thousands of Rwandan refugees, saving them from disease, hunger and all the bad that war creates.

Arising from the Rwandese Patriotic Army (RPA/F), the rebels saved multitudes from certain death at the hands of well armed genocide machinery. The troops have helped reinvent a nation.

Here at home, Rwandan troops bring comfort to communities.

In 2022, a Kinshasa government that has failed to provide basic services, later alone security to its people, accuses one that does the absolute opposite.

The allegation may have been seen by President Tshisekedi as a “coup de foudre” that would put the Rwandan authorities on defensive mode in the face of a hostile world. Great imagination!

The thought of planning to make the allegation alone, tells you of what the world has become of late; a crazy mess.

It is the very reason Rwandan troops have vowed not to watch while innocent people are killed, in places where they can help restore sanity.

From the photo above, is a young Yonas, is picked from a swamp by a rebel fighter in 1994. On the right is him today. There are thousands like him today

The smiles on the faces of those in the presence of Rwandan troops say it all
